Bagmati Province First Open Skate Championship held on Sept 20-21

Bagmati Province First Open Skate Championship held on Sept 20-21 Entitled Jam Jam Skate Jam , the Event Bagmati Province First Open Skate Championship was held on Sept 20-21 with the slogan “We hope if one engineer can use either skateboard or roller skate as means of transportation in his daily activities to save 10 minutes from campus to hostel and vice versa, it will save engineer’s 11 days in four years of engineering studies.” The organizer of this event was Bagmati Province Skating & Skateboarding Association while the co organizer were Nepal Skating & Skateboarding AssociationNepal Skate Club. The second day event had been conducted with rally of rollerskating from Thapathali campus to Pulchowk campus and then hostel whereas for the skateboarding from campus gate to hostel. Rollerskate had been conducted for two days on 20th of Sept and 21st of Sept while skate board on 21st of Sept on world peace day. The recent skateboarding and roller skates competition under the judges of Ram Chandra Koirala for best trick ,Ronit Pujari,Sujit Deula,Raju Nepali for all games of roller skates and Boys Game of Skates and Gajendra Bardewa for Girls Game of Skate brought together top athletes from across the region from all the provinces, delivering thrilling performances in various categories, including the much-anticipated Game of Skate,Best Tricks, and Rollerskate Race.

In the men’s Game of Skate, Basanta Rai emerged victorious, securing the top prize of NPR 12,500 after showcasing his skills and creativity on the board. Following closely behind was Saradh Kumar Rai, who took second place and a cash prize of NPR 6,000Saroj Magar claimed third place with NPR 4,000, while Binod Karki rounded off the top four with a prize of NPR 2,000The Best Tricks category saw incredible stunts, with Ushan Ale Magar taking home the first prize of NPR 12,500 for his standout performance. Saradh Kumar Rai, proving his consistency across the competition, took second place here as well, earning another NPR 6,000Jeevan Tamang secured third place with a prize of NPR 4,000. In the women’s Game of Skate, there was a three-way tie for first place, with Samikshya Rai, Samira Rana Magar, and Arlin Lama each receiving NPR 2,500 for their efforts. All three participants displayed excellent talent, leading to an exciting shared victory in the category. 

The Rollerskate Race brought their own set of excitement. In the boys’ category, Aarth Bohra took home the top prize of NPR 20,000, while Rajan Makrati earned NPR 10,000 for his second-place finish. Bijaya Khanal came third with NPR 7,500, and Sauhard Shrestha claimed NPR 5,000 for fourth placeThe girls’ race saw a dominant performance by Sandhya Ale Magar, who won the first prize of NPR 5,000Nayana Shakya and Trishana Thapa Magar finished second and third, with prizes of NPR 3,000 and NPR 2,000, respectively. Other events included the High Jump, where Sonam Gurung claimed the top prize of NPR 2,500, and the Jig Jag, with Safal Thapa Magar winning NPR 2,500 for his agility and precision. n a special recognition, Ganendra Bardewa was awarded Best Player of Skateboarding, receiving a well-deserved prize of NPR 5,000 for his overall contribution to the competition. The event showcased the exceptional talent and dedication of all participants, ensuring an exciting future for skateboarding and rollerskate sports in the region.Province President Er.Prakash Shrestha said roller skate event was successfully executed at Thapathali Campus in the presence of Central President Achyut Khanal as cheif guest and skateboard event at Pulchowk Campus was too in the presence of Honourable Durlav Thapa, Member of Parliament .During the event , President of Bagmati Province Er. Prkash Shrestha said that players need to register under the central association so that provinces will have ease to facilitate health insurance coordinating with insurance company and even Province president believed that we association can make this game third sports of Nepal during the span of 8 years and wish the players to get goal medal upon the approval of certification of Olympic via Nepal Sports Council.He said that association has visioned of making park in every local government bodies and even soon starting the park within the boundary of red Panda parka for the memory of his father as Bhola Nath Memorial Skate Park.He said with being spirit Honorable Durav Thapa is the ambassador of our skate association from politics field. He wanted to recall the vice president Er. Suman Kattel saying that you had a potential to register the association and to become president for prosperity of sports. Central President said that every district and other provinces need to conduct similar event to unite association and players together and to promote our sports specially skateboarding and roller skating.Even in the event on World Peace DayChief guest Honorable Durlav Thapa said government and related bodies should focus on to create a park everywhere and at least in all the metropolitan cities in Nepal.Nepal First Skater Ram Chandra Koirala also shared his experience about his journey in skate field. Vice President of Bagmati Province Bikash Lama said that he was happy to conduct this historical event and in coming days he added that association will do more events not only in Kathmandu Valley all over the Nepal .Two days Event were hosted by member ,Bibhusa Bajagain and Joint Secretary Michael Parja under the coordination of general secretary Sociologist Sajan Deuja.On 22nd of september,Prize,certificate,medal had been distributed to players with the coordination of venue partner,broadcasting channel and central association Secretary Dinesh Bajagain.
