On July 15th, the Bagmati Province Skating and Skateboarding Association unveiled its 2081/82 action plan at Ilive Burger and Barbecue in Lalitpur. The event was attended by key figures including Province President Er. Prakash Shrestha, Vice President Bikash Lama, Er. Suman Kattel, General Secretary Sajan Deuja, Treasurer Anish Baniya, Assistant Secretary Michael Parja, and members Sanjiv Bhattarai, Bipin Kuikel, Ram Dahal, and Aarti Lama. Chief guest Dr. Er. Rajkumar Dahal and special guests such as Central General Secretary Eng. Satya Thapa, Bagmati Province Coach Ronit Pujari, Makwanpur President Sumit K.C., Dolakha President Nawaraj Khadka, Prem Thing, CEO of White Rabbit Studio Er. Parivesh Koirala (sponsor), and CEO of Dynamic Skate Club Rojan Bhasima (sponsor) were also present.

Action plan has been announced by President Er. Prakash Shrestha.

The key points of the action plan include:

  1. Affiliation: All clubs in the 13 districts of Bagmati Province must affiliate with the association.
  2. Certified Coaches: Clubs and schools can only employ certified coaches from Bagmati Province.
  3. Lifetime Membership: Encourage supporters of the sport to become lifetime members.
  4. Scholarships: Provide scholarships to players in Valley schools and colleges.
  5. International Competitions: Facilitate free international competition participation for players, coordinating with the central and national associations.
  6. Skate Park Approval: Obtain association approval and follow guidelines for building skate parks in municipalities or commercial projects within Bagmati Province.
  7. Jersey Requirement: Clubs must stock at least five jerseys from the association in their outlets.
  8. New Skate Parks: Build two skate parks (one in Red Panda Park, Rasuwa, and another in Children’s Park, Bhaktapur) and two skate grounds in government schools (one in Kavre and one in Bhaktapur) in coordination with local municipalities and wards.
  9. Ice Sports: Promote figure skating and ice hockey in Gosaikunda, Rasuwa, during the term.
  10. Coach Assignments: Assign at least one coach per district and develop 22 provincial players within the term, ensuring all benefits are provided to them.
  11. Health Insurance: Arrange health insurance for skate players.

Bagmati Province skater Nirjara Shrestha showcased some roller skating skills during the event.

Other notable plans include appointing at least one coach per district, developing 22 provincial players during the term, and ensuring that all player benefits are provided. The association also aims to secure health insurance for all skate players.

Sponsor representatives Er. Paribesh Koirala and Rojan Bhasima expressed their commitment to providing ongoing financial support to the association, highlighting the potential popularity of the sport in Nepal due to its individual nature.

Bagmati Coach Ronit Pujari shared his 15 years of dedication to the sport, while Bagmati Skate Park Inspector Sumit K.C. expressed his happiness in being part of the association.

Chief guest Dr. Er. Rajkumar Dahal emphasized the sport’s potential to contribute to tourism and the importance of promoting ice hockey. Central representative General Secretary Er. Satya Thapa assured full support from the central association.

The event was hosted by Province General Secretary Sajan Deuja, with Vice President Bikash Lama delivering the welcome address.
